An exciting new project is under way. Under the guidance of our Society Archivist, Pittk Pitkeathly and Captain David Wixon RN, the target is the production of an exceptionally high quality, hardbook, full colour book detailing the life of Her Majesty’s Submarine HMS Courageous.

Pittk has, for a number of years now, been working extremely hard, travelling all over the country and raiding the National Archives and Ministry of Defence records to track down the details of H.M.S. Courageous’ service in the Royal Navy which lasted a total of 21 years.

Many thousands of words have been written, photographs obtained and the book is nearing the stage where production will soon be possible.

Captain David Wixon is no stranger to authoring and publishing similar high quality books and has stepped aboard the project to help bring it to fruition. With his experience the project is now heading to the final stages.

Such an undertaking does not come cheaply and it is expected that the cost could be as high as thirty thousand pounds. The Courageous Book Project will soon be announcing its plans for raising such funds and you can help.

Please return to this page for details of the project’s funding plans and for updates on the progress of the book project.

If you wish to contact either Pittk or David Wixon please do so using the e-mail addresses below.
